Hell is for Heroes - well what can I say I've always enjoyed war films. This movie was made in 1962 and the acting is surprisingly good, and I guess at that time this movie was pretty violent too. I really liked the characters they weren't just joe-soldier with nothing to say. It doesn't glorify the war like in many other second world war movies.

Max Manus - it was allright i guess. but not as good as al the hype has made it out to be. and it was far from the best norwegian film, as some has said it is. but like i said, it was allright.

Sadly, I doubt you're talking about the Hitchcock film.

I actually just watched that today.

I would've probably laughed abit more if I was Jewish, but it was still a pretty good flick.

Watched a heap of films while on honeymoon, here are the first that spring to mind:

    My Sister's Keeper
Brilliant, painfull, well acted, etc, etc, etc. Probably one of Cameron Diaz' few films were she acts. Different ending from the book, which was probably a better ending in terms of the themes that they kept for the movie.

    Taking of Pelham 123
    Pedestrian.

    Max Payne
    What a shit film.

    G-Force
Not that bad a kids film, still pretty average though.

    Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium
    Average.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
Better the second time around. Director could have done a better job by either keeping the final fight scene or creating more suspense and thrills in the lake scene.

    Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
    Meh.

    The Proposal
If this didn't have Ryan Reynolds in it I wouldn't have watched it at all. If it didn't have him in it it would have been unwatchable, generic rubbish. With him in it, it was a passable romcom.

    The Time Travellers Wife
Brilliant. Was a bit slow and overly dramatic but very enjoyable. Very impressed with Rachael McAdams again, only the second film I've seen of hers and she was/is very good.

    Cleaner
Intriguing film, well acted, just not well directed. We are meant to feel for Samuel L Jackson's character but we don't as he is just as bad as the antagonists. Nothing sets him apart, such as him creating a strong moral code that we are lead to support. A few bits of editing and slight changes and we would have.

    The Boat That Rocked
    Very funny. Well worth watching.

    I'll add more later.

    Couple more I remembered:

    Up
Heart warming little movie. At first I thought it was just a kids film, but I gave it a chance and was moved with this story of living life and adventure.

    Paycheck
I actually enjoyed this flick. I've heard nothing but bad about this film and yet it was really good.

    Race to Witch Mountain
Didn't suck as much as I thought it would. Not to say that it didn't. The Rock has to pick a few better roles soon.

Capitalism: A love story - i dont know enough about economics and politics to say that much about it, and how much of it is true.. but it was an entertaining film

Avatar - a visually beautifull film, and the na'vi chick was pretty hot. some good action scenes as well. but other than that, well...

i do want to see it again tho, in 3D.

How was the Imax? I have seen it twice in regular 3d, wouldn't mind the Imax.

Say what you will about the plot of this movie, but the fact that it is still selling out 6 weeks after release really says something.

That substandard plot, story and characters can be alligned with a big budget spent on marketing and special effects to convince the general public that it is a movie worth seeing :dunnodude:

As opposed to actually taking the time to craft a great movie, fill it with special effects, no-one will notice the difference at the box office. :talkhand:

Law Abiding Citizen - 7/10 - Your usual psychological thriller/action movie, but it still kept my interest up, and I sympathised with the characters all the way through.
