To much sitting has a negative impact on the body's ability to burn fat and causes poor blood circulation as well. When our body burns less fat, and blood circulation is poor, there is a better chance of fatty acids blocking the arteries in the heart. To much sitting can elevate cholesterol levels, cause high blood pressure, and cardiovascular disease.
In history, our ancestors do a lot of physical activities like hunting and running away from dangerous carnivorous beasts. So, our body is not designed to sit for a longer period and that kind of situation actually give negative impacts to our health. It affects the body's ability to regulate blood sugar, blood pressure and break down body fat.
Sitting burn less energy than standing or moving obviously. But too much for prolonged periods increase the risk of acquiring cardiovascular disease and cancer. So take a break from sitting every 30 minutes and try joining to any physical activities because exercise has a lot of wonderful benefits physiologically and mentally.
