WBC strawweight title – Wanheng Menayothin vs Tatsuya Fukuhara

Thai boxing champion Wanheng Menayothin will defend his WBC strawweight title against challenger Tatsuya Fukuhara on May 24 in Chenburi, Thailand. It will be the 11th defense of Menayothin who had broken the undefeated fight record of Floyd Mayweather. Menayothin has 52 wins and 18 KOs while Fukuhara has a fight record of 21-6-6 with only 7 KOs.

From the original schedule of March that was postponed to April and later on pushed for May, now it looks like the final postponement of the fight to be on May 31. No reason was given for the recent postponement but pundits suspect that it is due to lack of sponsors and low ticket sales.
