Some of you, who could tell me how the pointssystem works ? Seems like it's similar to golf or something . Starting at a basic score, and then by doing great, you'll decrease the score.

I'd say the judges have had far better focus during this mr. O, but to put Cutler in 2nd place, seems like a consolation prize to me. I'd never have put him ahead of Phil Heath, based on their form this year.

Correct me if I'm wrong, I very well could be, but, here is how I think the system works.

There are 5 judges. Each judge gives the competitor a ranking as to what place they would put the competitor, from there, all the points are added up.

So, lets use Dexter as an example, who got 12 points combined in the first, and second round. This means that for the first two rounds, he averaged 6 points (ie, 4 judges had him in first, 1 judge had him in second).

In the third round, Dexter got 9 points, this means that probably, for this round, 1 judge had him in first (1 point), and 4 judges had him in second (8 points), for a total of 9 points. This would make sense, as the commentates mentioned that Dex had slipped just a little.

So, in reality, the point difference doesn't mean that much, as to how far apart the competitors were. Lets look at the 2003 Olympia Scorecard, which went like this:

Does this mean that each judge had Ronnie twice as good as Jay? No, it just means that in each round, all 5 judges had Ronnie in first, and all 5 had Jay in second.
