“The three-day event in Hong Kong which ran from the 23rd to the 26th October 2017, saw the best of the best compete. The Singapore Team which was one of the smallest teams in the competition was up against strong competition, but they managed to stun the world of bodybuilding when six of the team made it to the finals where they won medals.” said Alex Michael Betts, SFBF President.

Thanks to the SFBF (Singapore Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness) which is a non-profit organization, more people in Singapore are coming forward to take up bodybuilding and compete in the sport. The SFBF who recently held their Show Of Strength event saw athletes from around the world compete and would like even more athletes to join their future events.

The medallists who won at the prestigious Olympia Amateur Asia were as follows:

Gisele Lim – 1st Place - Gold medal & trophy in Bodyfitness over 163cm

Alexandra Peak-Watkinson – 2nd Place - Silver medal & trophy in Bodyfitness over 163cm

Nur Nadiah Binte Ahmad Jani – 3rd Place - Bronze medal & trophy in Bikini Fitness up to 158cm

Tyen Fong - 4th Place medal in Bikini Fitness up to 162cm

Benjamin Broughton - 5th Place medal in Classic Bodybuilding over 180cm

Sam Enaya – 6th Place medal in Classic Bodybuilding up to 175cm

When Gisele Lim who received a Gold medal and trophy in Bodyfitness over 163cm was asked how she felt about winning her category she replied, “I felt really honored to win at such a prestigious event! Still feeling surreal!”

Gold medallist Gisele Lim who is nearly 40 years old and a full-time teacher of children with special needs said she plans to look at areas where she can improve on to win further medals.

This is not the first-time Gisele Lim has impressed judges enough to win a medal. She recently won a Gold medal and trophy in the Bodyfitness Open category at the Show of Strength 2017 (http://bit.ly/sfbfsos) event. The competition organized by Singapore Federation of Bodybuilding & Fitness (SFBF), attracted over 200 athletes from around Asia
