Horrid form heh? Why, because they are partial range? Perhaps u should ask why before making assumptions. Heavy partials are not only safer than full ROM but activate more muscle fibre's and prevent ending up in a dangerous position (heavily arched spine) without a competent spotter! As for the hooks - they are a great idea as they allow U to go for ur last rep knowing that you only have to hook them on the bar and not clear them to the floor or from the floor.
