For what I know there are very strict rules for form in these competitions. I don't see the the point of you doing 1/10 ROM pull-ups when you'll get zero of the reps approved in competition.
Props for realizing that fitness competitions are more right for you than bodybuilding though![]()

the rules are:
there are 3 judges who count your reps and tell you if you didn´t compete a rep or you broke a rule and they have these yellow cards and if you get 2 card that will be minus one rep
you cannot go too fast
your chin must touch the pad on the bar
you must extend the arms
you can only rest for 3 sec between reps
there is no rule about using your legs to help you get up, so that is why every fitnes competitor does pullups with there legs and body and use this swinging motion
