The first physique competition was held in Sverdlovsk in 1960. The jury was chaired by six-time world and Olympic champion and Honored Master of Sports Arkady Vorobyov. The winner was Vladimir Sdobnov, a student at the Ural Polytechnic Institute. He is a versatile athlete: he holds first-class medals in parachuting and chess, second-class medals in weightlifting, and third-class medals in track and field. Sdobnov enjoys rowing and is a frequent cross-country runner.
He is 23 years old. His height is 178 cm, his weight is 83 kg, his biceps circumference is 40 cm, his neck circumference is 41 cm, his calf circumference is 41 cm, his chest circumference at rest is 100 cm (the difference between inhalation and exhalation is 12 cm), and his spirometry is 5000 cm³.

On December 7, 2020, Vladimir Aleksandrovich Stepanov, one of the founders of Tver bodybuilding and a participant in competitions in the 1970s and 1980s, passed away at the age of 83. Blessed memory!
