Salman Khan strongly condemned the use of anabolic steroids at a recent fitness expo in Mumbai.
Salman Khan, one of Bollywood’s most recognizable and popular superstars, has gone on record condemning the use of anabolic steroids for bodybuilding. Khan has long been known for his muscular physique. The popularity of bodybuilding in India is due in no small part to Khan.
Khan has long been suspected of using anabolic steroids and/or other muscle-building drugs. He has consistently denied such accusations. Khan has now taken it a step further.
“Steroids are very bad for the body”.
Khan recently told fans at a fitness event that “no one should use steroids” because they are “very bad for their body and them”.
Khan claimed to have seen many bodybuilders passing out in the gym from using anabolic steroids. He speculated that this could have been due to steroid-induced health problems.
“I have seen many who pass out while working out in the gym,” Khan claimed. “It can be because of anything, heart failures, or something more critical. Therefore, it’s not a good thing to use at all,”
Khan maintained that bodybuilders only need to consume protein powders and a few different dietary supplements to achieve their muscle-building goals. Otherwise, their bodies will look unnatural and their muscles will quickly disappear.
Protein shakes and a few supplements are fine, but steroids with higher magnitude are a big no-no. A body made with such things doesn’t look real. People can make out it’s not natural and is built with the help of steroids,” said Khan.”Such packs or biceps don’t last long and the same goes for the people who use these [steroid],” he added.
Khan’s condemnation of steroids comes a few weeks following the arrest of his former bodyguard Anas Qureshi.
Qureshi was arrested after a bizarre public incident in which he was seen assaulting random pedestrians, vandalizing vehicles, throwing bricks, and rambling incoherently on a busy public street. The Hyderabad City Police blamed steroids for Qureshi’s behavior.
Khan has not had any association with Qureshi for years. Nonetheless, Khan may have felt compelled to further distance himself from the demonized steroids.

It's actually good that a celebrity has the guts to make this statements. This would save many of his fans from misusing this powerful substance. Many think steroid as a magical tool to build their dream body, but fail to realize the importance of training, nutrition and rest. Should use steroids only under professional guidance and only if it is absolutely necessary.
