For their title battle against WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol on May 7th, Canelo Alvarez and his trainer/manager Eddy Reynoso rejected the concept of a 171-pound catchweight or rehydration clause.

Russell Mora, a local referee, has been assigned to supervise the 12-round DAZN Pay-Per-View main event at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, where Alvarez will make his sixth appearance since the venue opened in 2016. Tim Cheatham (Nevada), Dave 'Not Carl' Moretti (Nevada), and Steve Weisfeld (New Jersey) are the judges for the fight, and they are all rated among the greatest in the sport.
