Change your OS to English.

Yes you can. Go to your control panel. Go to language options. Add other languages.

No, you can't. You can change input, and some other stuff, but the basic OS doesn't change. I'll post a pic, but it won't be much use to you if you can't read Japanese.

Download a "Windows XP MUI"
Google that and you'll find a file that can change most of the stuff in you OS too english and other languages

It's actually not too bad, functions stay the same. And it won't make a difference for all the software I'm running in English. (Once I reload photoshop, for example.)

If you live in America and speak English, why are you using a Japanese version of Windows XP?

Not too long ago I was living in Japan. Lived there almost 4 years. Half of my stuff, including my PC, is from Den Den town in Osaka.
