Coach Aceto is not happy about AMI’s decision to kick his top client out of the 2019 Mr. Olympia bodybuilding contest.
Chris Aceto, the bodybuilding guru responsible for the contest preparation for Mr. Olympia Shawn Rhoden, stopped short of defending the accused rapist. But Aceto strongly condemned America Media LLC’s decision to revoked Rhoden’s eligibility to compete at the 2019 Mr. Olympia in September.

“There is something fundamentally wrong with the entire IFBB if someone is allowed to be kicked out of the sport after being accused of something,” Aceto wrote on Instagram. “(Even criminal) without asking the accused ‘is this true?’”

David Pecker and American Media LLC did not afford Shawn Rhoden the presumption of innocence.

Aceto was unhappy that American Media LLC Chairman and CEO David Pecker failed to afford Rhoden the presumption of innocence before banning him from the Mr. Olympia competition. Aceto believed that Pecker “jumped the gun” and decided that Rhoden “must be guilty of a crime without due process, without a trial, without picking up a phone and asking the competitor ‘what the hell is going on?’”
Aceto pointedly criticized Pecker’s actions as a “gutless crappy business” decision lacking integrity and fairness.
Aceto also pointed out the unfortunate fact that the IFBB Pro League apparently has no power over how the Mr. Olympia contest is run. Jim Manion is the man-in-charge of the IFBB Pro League but that is not enough.
American Media LLC is the exclusive owner and operator of Joe Weider’s Mr. Olympia Fitness and Performance Expo and the Mr. Olympia Contest. And American Media has the final word when it comes to bodybuilding’s most prestigious contest.
The IFBB Pro League and President Jim Manion, acting upon advice of legal counsel, took no action against Shawn Rhoden citing their respect for the “rights of the accuser, the accused, and the company which owns and operates the prestigious Mr. Olympia Contest.”
This means that Rhoden could presumably still compete in other IFBB Pro contests pending the legal outcome of the case against him.
