Bruce Dern is a war veteran who is suffering from shell shock. His wife Jane Fonda is attracted to John Voight maybe out of alienation from her husband. Voight is also a war veteran who is in wheel chair due to injuries from the war. This movie is a poignant story of how a war veteran could adjust back to society.

Bruce Dern and Jane Fonda sure takes me back to whole different time and point in my life. The truth is though they often made the movies better back then so it might be worth taking a look at this one.
