I classify anyone under 1.8m as short. I'd also say anyone over 1.88m is tall (which I think is 2 standard deviations).

Well, I'm approx 175cm and I'm not that short compared to the norm.

Straps are the devil (except for on kroc rows after heavy deads).

I'd say that if you're using Krocs to improve your grip then straps are kinda pointless for those as well.

I don't use them for grip myself, I haven't had grip problems for a long time. They're an upper-back builder for me.

I'd say that if you're using straps to make up for grip on a low rep exercise then you shouldn't be using straps at all, but for 20+ reps they're acceptable.

I'm 5'6" or 5'7" ... cant remember... either way i never considered myself short until i started going to college, whats up with all these tall ass white guys? and my gf is taller then me :( lol

THanks for the Advice guys. BTW i do use straps on heavy deads and rows only when i cannot hold the bar otherwise, i mostly stick to chalk (although its prohibited in my gym).

I'm 6'1" and I have trouble with deadlifts. I have genetically long legs.

I prefer using a trap bar for deads over traditional barbell.

Most tall lifters troubles stem from their level length(humerus and femur) in particular and their muscle attachments related to those levers, although shorter people at times can have longer levels. I would keep the reps pretty low as far as tall people go.
