Hagerstown - A man is in custody after authorities said he held a sign reading "Death to Obama" outside a town hall meeting on health care reform in western Maryland.
Washington County Sheriff's Captain Peter Lazich says the sign also read, "Death to Michelle and her two stupid kids".
He says US Secret Service agents took the unidentified 51-year-old man into custody on Wednesday afternoon after deputies detained him.
The Secret Service did not immediately return telephone calls from The Associated Press inquiring about the matter. The sheriff's office didn't say what charges the man could face.
President Barack Obama was not at the meeting held on Wednesday in Hagerstown by Maryland Democratic Senator Ben Cardin.
