Donnie Avery had a big first half against the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday Night Football, and that's really good news for his fantasy value as the season continues.
At the end of the first half, he had already put up 103 yards on just five catches. This was a big jump after he totaled just four catches for 49 yards and a touchdown during the Kansas City Chiefs' first two games. His biggest play came in the second quarter, when he showed off his speed and running for a 51-yard reception that led to a field goal for the Chiefs.
Looking forward, expect Andy Reid and the coaching staff to draw up more plays that focus on Avery in the passing game. Watch for Alex Smith to throw the ball his way more often as well.
It may have been one half, but with how good Avery looked out there, the Chiefs will make sure to get him involved and make some plays opposite of Dwayne Bowe.
