I think caffeine pills may be a target for a ban, not just caffeine all together (coffee can't be banned, taxed probably tho). Red Bull and other stimulant drinks have taken a lot of heat, they might just impose some kind of limits on the dosage.

there really wouldn't ever be a need to ban coffee, since it can be made without caffeine.

just like during prohibition, companies were still able to sell beer as long as it was non-alcoholic.

obviously, we're probably a long ways away from banning caffeine. they'll take away our nutritional supplements first.

True, but coffee is basically such a popular morning and work/study drink due to the "wake me up" effect of caffeine in it. Not many people are a fan of a cup of decaff in the morning.

I can see them banning caffeine pills, but leaving coffee untouched, which if anything demonstrates the hypocrisy of the government. It's like banning protein powders while people can still eat meat.

Politics isn't about making sense or logical judgements.

Politics is about saying what people want to hear and doing what makes people feel better about themselves.

Just look at Obama. Style over substance as near as I can tell. Australian PM is another example; all media savvy and style, no substance nor follow through.
