I took 2 rest days because I was feeling tired but when I got back to training I felt weaker on almost every exercise.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Yep, i've experienced that before. I usually feel sluggish after a couple of days off but once I get moving again, everything goes back to normal

Yeah, I’ve had that happen before and it’s frustrating because you expect rest to make you feel stronger. For me, it was usually temporary. I’d come back feeling a bit flat, less “in the groove,” and weights felt heavier for a session or two. Most of the time my strength returned once I got moving again. If you were carrying a lot of fatigue before the break, two days might not instantly feel like a rebound, especially if sleep, food, hydration, or routine changed too.

Yeah, I've noticed that too. I don't think you're actually getting weaker after two days off. For me, it's usually just feeling a bit flat or not as "switched on" during the first few sets.

I've found that getting some light activity on rest days, eating enough carbs, and having a good warm-up makes a big difference. Once I get a few working sets in, everything usually feels normal again.

If it only happens on that first session back, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Same here lol. My first session after extra rest always feels off but after a good warm up and another workout everything feels normal again.

Usually comes back within a session or two for me, sometimes even hits a mini rebound after that. If it lingers past a week tho, I'd start looking at sleep, stress, or whether those two rest days were actually needed vs early signs of something else creeping up (like real fatigue/overreaching rather than just normal tiredness).

I think sometimes you can take a couple days off and still come back feeling weaker, especially if you were already pretty tired. I wouldn’t worry too much about it yet. Give yourself a few more sessions and see if your strength comes back.

Yeah, I’ve had that happen after taking a couple days off lol. You’d think you’d come back feeling stronger, but sometimes the first session just feels weird and everything feels heavier.

I’ve noticed it usually takes me a few sets to get back into the groove. Makes me think one off day of performance probably doesn’t mean you actually lost strength.
