Fighting on short notification

When Nate Diaz fought Conor McGregor in a UFC catchweight bout, it was said that Diaz accepted the fight on a 10-day notice only. Although Diaz won that fight via submission, the heavy injuries andn his face was evident. McGregor is a heavy puncher and it was just a stroke of luck that Diaz got a rear naked choke submission. The issue here is the preparedness of the fighter. There should be a minimum period of notification for a fighter to agree to a fight to ensure his preparedness.
