Today I had tinolang manok with the usual sayote and ginger as the veggies. I told my wife that this Filipino dish has a lot of history to it like in the novel Noli Me Tangere written by Filipino National hero JP Rizal, during a banquet the guests were served tinola and the various chicken parts. Unfortunately for one Filipino he was served the neck part which was the least meaty part of the dish. Funny but sometimes even during an ordinary meal extraordinary things can come up adding flavor to the food and the eating as well.
