In an interview, Daniel Cormier admitted his great disappoinment in losing the UFC light heavyweight belt to rival Jon Jones, the former champion who lost the belt not in a fight but in technicality. Jones had previously beaten Cormier in a championship fight that Jones was able to retain his belt via a unanimous decision over Cormier. But this second fight where Cormier is the champion painted a clear picture of who is Jon Jones. Maybe it will take a long time before Cormier can pick up the pieces. As of now, it looks like Cormier is headed for retirement.

Well I would say that the good news is that retirement from the sport now is much different than it may have been a couple of years ago. As a recognizable name, he will have his opportunities elsewhere, which is nice to know.
