It’s time to hang up the gloves after suffering his 5th straight loss when Anthony Smith defeated Evans by a first round knockout thus giving him a record of 19-8-1.His notable fights are when he defeated Chuck Liddell by a knockout in UFC 88 and in winning the light heavyweight belt from Forrest Griffin by also by a knockout.

Rashad Evans was a very explosive fighter he literally destroyed Chuck Liddell in their fight. I can recall it vividly when Liddell was knocked out of commission by Evans on the second round. But in the past years he's been on a losing streak. I think that retiring is the right option to take.

I feel like Rashad Evans should make it in the top 5 list of the greatest fighters of all time that UFC has had to offer. As he makes the decision to hang up his gloves, he does it as a living legend and the with the respect of many great fighters in the industry.
