Gabriele Andriulli has become one of the most well-known athletes in the field of professional wheelchair bodybuilding. The Italian IFBB Pro has achieved a highly impressive competitive record through his wins at the Arnold Classic, his performances at international professional competitions, and his repeated appearances among the top contenders at the Mr. Olympia.
His journey involves more than just achievements in bodybuilding; after suffering a serious spinal cord injury in 2011, he restarted his athletic career and eventually made his passion for bodybuilding his main profession.
Yet how much is Gabriele Andriulli really worth? Even though his exact net worth has never been made public, information about his professional career, the sponsorship deals he has, and the coaching opportunities available to him does give some indication of how he makes his living.
Andriulli was born in 1980 and at first trained as an amateur in bodybuilding until a serious car accident altered his life in December 2011. As a result of the accident, he suffered an incomplete spinal cord injury at the T11–T12 vertebrae and became paraplegic, being unable to walk.
Instead of giving up on his love of fitness, he slowly got back into training and found chances to take part in professional wheelchair bodybuilding.
His journey, marked by competition, eventually led him to international events such as the Arnold Classic, the Toronto Pro Supershow, and Mr. Olympia.
On December 20, 2011, he fell asleep while driving home from work and crashed into a roadside barrier, thereby being thrown out of his car and sustaining a spinal cord injury that had a permanent effect on his ability to move.
He remained in hospital for about ten months and had thorough rehabilitation. As stated in an interview published by Gazzetta dello Sport, he had difficulty with simple gym exercises when he first left the hospital.
But he slowly regained the strength and stability of his upper body.
Eventually, after returning to bodybuilding, he went to the United States, and there found opportunities in competitive wheelchair bodybuilding. He made a return to the stage in 2013 and then started to build an international professional career.
Andriulli’s career as a professional advanced through his consistent performances at major international competitions.
In 2013, he won the Wheelchair USA Championships and then became a serious competitor in the IFBB Pro wheelchair division.
Some of his most notable achievements include:
Wheelchair bodybuilding athletes are generally unlike mainstream bodybuilding celebrities in that they have few financial disclosures available to the public. It would therefore be speculative to assign him a specific net worth.
An important point concerning his finances came out during an interview given by him in December 2024 and published by the Italian Fondo Vittime della Strada.
Andriulli stated that bodybuilding had now become his main job and that he had a sponsor who paid him so that he could pursue it as a professional athlete.
This serves as direct evidence that his career brings in a professional income apart from just competing for trophies.
His financial situation could also gain from coaching and other fitness-related activities, though there has been no public confirmation of earnings from these activities.
Regarding sponsorships: Andriulli has mentioned in public that he would like to have a paying sponsor. Having sponsorship agreements can assist professional athletes in paying for their training, the preparation for competition, travel, and other similar expenses.
Prize money from competitions: Although he has won races and achieved podium finishes at professional events, this has given him the chance to earn prize money; the amount received individually and his total earnings over his career, however, are not made public.
Coaching: Andriulli has shown an interest in offering coaching services. The basis for this arises from his competitive background and personal experience.
As for personal branding, the man’s international fame and his presence on social media could lead to more opportunities via partnerships and collaborations in the field of fitness. However, his exact earnings from such activities are not disclosed.
It is necessary to differentiate these possible sources of income from actual earnings, since no reliable public financial statement gives a full breakdown of his income.
His most successful result was achieved at the EMPRO Classic Spain Pro on June 21, when he won the Men’s Wheelchair event.
But he performed differently at the 2026 Mr. Olympia. On September 26, he came in sixth in the Men’s Wheelchair event.
Even though he didn’t get to the podium, the fact that he has kept on taking part shows that he is still active in the professional bodybuilding field.
His results at the event in 2026 therefore provide him with one more professional win to add to a career which has already seen him win several Arnold Classic and international competition titles.
The fact that he won the Arnold Classic in 2022 made him the first Italian wheelchair bodybuilder to secure victory in this distinguished competition; furthermore, his multiple appearances at the Olympia and his triumphs on the international stage have also contributed to raising the profile of adaptive bodybuilding.
What his case shows is that suffering a serious physical injury does not necessarily lead to the end of an athletic career.
After suffering a devastating accident and then going back to the gym, Andriulli has gone on to build a career that still inspires those who aspire to be wheelchair bodybuilders.
