Fitness model and influencer Gloria Zamora, 40, was gunned down in cold blood on June 22, 2025, alongside her business partner Hector Garduno, 43. The shooting happened in a sushi restaurant parking lot in Fontana, California. The man behind it? Her estranged husband, Thomas Alberto Tamayo Lizarraga, who showed up uninvited, opened fire, and was ultimately shot dead by an off-duty San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputy.

This wasn’t some random act. It was targeted, premeditated, and absolutely disgusting.

Zamora and Garduno were meeting that day to talk business—nothing shady, nothing romantic. Just two people building something. Lizarraga, clearly unable to handle rejection or her success, found them and unleashed hell. Both victims were shot. Paramedics tried, but neither survived.

Police haven’t revealed how Lizarraga tracked her down, but they’ve confirmed she was at the restaurant for over an hour before he showed up. Was he following her? Did someone tip him off? We don’t know yet.

Officer Steve Reed from the Fontana Police Department confirmed they were going through a divorce. Lizarraga wasn’t living with her anymore. The off-duty deputy who stopped the carnage hasn't been named, but he acted fast—one more second and it could’ve been worse.

Zamora’s murder comes just days after the killing of Zunilda Hoyos Mendez—aka “She-Hulk”—a Colombian fitness personality found murdered in Spain by her partner, who then tried to take his own life.

Another strong woman. Another violent man. Same story, different continent.



Both women were leaving toxic men. Both were strong, well-known, and focused on helping others. And both were killed for trying to take back control of their lives.

We Can’t Stay Quiet About This​

There’s an ugly truth here: Domestic violence doesn’t care how famous, fit, or successful you are. It’s about control. And when control slips, abusers escalate.

This isn’t just a women’s issue—it’s a community issue. The fitness world, especially the bodybuilding scene, needs to speak louder about this stuff.
