Gustavo Badell decides to skip the Ironman Pro

Gustavo Badell, is sitting out the 2009 Ironman Pro on January 23-25. But not for any reasons one might think. No, Badell is out because he and his wife are due for a new addition to their family. “I got the news that my wife was pregnant late last year,” the soon to be father of three said.

Badell, who had planned to enter the show, realized that doing so would limit any time he could spend with his family. “Usually, November and December are the months I usually devote to them” he said. “ But I’d have to focus 100 percent on training and diet and that would leave no time for family. So it came down to the show and my family, and like always, family won.” Badell and his wife Jessica expect their new son (yes, son!) in May.

Agreed I didn't see him winning this anyway, so made a good decision I guess.
