Gustavo Badell plans a bodybuilding competition for people with Down syndrome

When he conducts his 10th Gustavo Badell Classic in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on July 20, there will be an additional class of competitors unlike any we're aware of. Badell labels as "a dream" his plan for a bodybuilding competition for people with Down syndrome. His wife's 23-year-old brother, Charlie Rodriguez, has the genetic condition, which comes from having an extra chromosome. Rodriguez gave a demonstration at last year's show and Badell says, "This time, he's going to compete, along with three others. I feel so happy. People are going to love it."
