In the UFC, there are fighters who take on fights on short notice which is not advisable. And there are fighters who fight after 2 months of their last fight whether they won or lost. Although the physical setup of a fighter is different from normal people like us, the human body is still susceptible to breaking down when subjected to frequent punishment. In boxing, a short gap of 2 months is allowed for a boxer provided he won his last fight with ease. But in mixed martial arts, it seems that they still have to craft a rule on the ideal gap period between fights.
