Hello there, I am a total newb here. I have a lot of exercise goals but for now I want to just loose all the visceral fat and belly fat in my stomach as soon as possible.
how or what do I need to do to lose visceral fat and belly fat at the bare minimum?
I realize its not going to happen overnight and probably not in a week either, its also going to require consistency. I found out I had visceral fat by talking to a gym trainer during a consultation at a gym where he used a machine on my body to measure visceral fat. He said I have medium or a little bit above medium visceral fat but its not to high or at dangerous levels but then again this was a year ago or more. I was recently reading a article online that was saying visceral fat or extra visceral fat can cause really bad body problems, heart issues and diabetes, especially for old people and I am old now. I would rather avoid or prevent these health problems from acuring, so I want to loose the visceral fat and stomach fat as soon as possible as well as keep it off plus I don't want to ever loose my ability to become muscly because I get diabetes or body/heart problems.
I think its more of a health concern now rather then just a exercise goal because last year or the beginning of this year my once a year physical showed that I had high cholesterol and my physician said what is or most likely is causing me to have high cholesterol is the extra visceral fat I have in my stomach. I have been taking meds my physician prescribed to me and cholesterol is lower plus I would think the exercise I have been doing to is also helping to lower it. I have been trying to loose the visceral fat and stomach fat doing stomach exercises based on this video>>> (4 days a week, 3 days rest) for over a year now and walking mostly for 20 minutes twice a day. I use to do more exercising like jogging in the morning for about 1 mile or less and then walking for 30 minutes which I would do twice a day except for Saturday and Sundays. I stopped because I had intense muscle spasms and I didn't want to be underweight as I was concerned I was doing to much exercise. I would also do 15 push ups a day either 4 or 5 days a week. I have dropped over 5 pounds since then, also being within my BMI range(125 to 159 pounds) for over 3 years but my stomach is still the same and hasn't gotten smaller or flatter so I decided to join a gym for help using a personal trainer temporarily until I can do it by myself.
The problem with that is I discovered that I cant afford a personal trainer in any of the gyms I went to so my new plan is just to learn it on my own or maybe go to college for a trainer/coach near me. Maybe take a class to learn what I want to do based on a program I qualify for at the local college near me. I was told that the local program is free without having to pay anything as it's payed for by the federal reserve or Mabey I can use a program there or class that I can afford. These exercises I have been doing just are not working to loose my visceral fat and belly fat, at least I don't notice any change in my stomach. It still doesn't look flat or toned. I spoke to another trainer after joining a gym and at the gist of it if I remember right, he was telling me the exercise I am doing isn't working because 90% of all exercise is strength or muscle building and also working my core which I haven't been doing so I am thinking I need to do more. I prefer bodyweight exercises at least to start with but I am open to using weights. If I need to do core exercises I prefer doing these 4 for the core exercises but am willing to do other core exercises.
I eat very healthy and about 1,800 calories a day based on what my nutritionist gave me or around there but probably a little less then that now because recently I haven't been eating any grains. In the morning its 2 cups of meat (chicken), 1/2 half cup of vegetables(carrot, green cabbage, purple cabbage), nuts (4 pecan halves, currently 10 raw peanuts), 1 banana, 1 cup of whole milk. at 12 noon its 2 cups of meat (chicken), half cup of vegetables(green, purple cabbage), nuts (4 pecan halves, currently 10 raw peanuts), around 1/2 cup of mangos, 1 cup of whole milk. At 3pm its 1 cup or a little more of meat (no salt sardines), vegetables(around 1 cup of Broccoli and asparagus), nuts(4 pecan halves, currently 10 peanuts). I drink about 64 ounces of water a day usually little sips through out the day. Mabey I am not eating the right proportions.
I go to bed early at 7pm and feel like I get decent sleep but I don't know if its enough or at least 7 hours. I also go to bed early now because I have sleep apnea so I cant stay up late. At least its the lowest form of sleep apnia. Currently I weigh 147 pounds and been staying at the weight every day. There is something else I learned from one of the gyms I joined with a trainer before I canceled the membership. there is apparently something called body fat percentage or something like that where the trainer used a weight scale/machine to find out mine. If I remember right, in order for me to lose the visceral fat, I would have to lower my body fat percentage to be at a certain weight which is 137 pounds If I remember right.
recently someone who I am affiliated with printed out this exercise beginners guide for me to use to help lose visceral fat, stomach fat, fix my back posture and strengthen my bottom back. The weekly structure is 4-5 days a week, 20-40 minutes total.
Monday: walk, glute bridges, bird dog, chest stretch.
Tuesday: walk, cat cow, wall posture holds.
Wednesday: walk, dead bug, resistance band rows, stretching.
Thursday: light walking only.
Friday: repeat Monday workout.
Saturday: long walk and stretching.
Sunday: rest or gentle mobility
does anyone know if this exercise guide is legit or will work to lose the visceral fat and stomach fat?. I just started it last week.
What weight will I be at once the visceral fat and stomach fat is gone? what subject or subjects do i need to study if I go to school to learn how to loose visceral fat and stomach fat? Do you recommend any books to start learning?
