IBF champion Melindo wins by split decision over Budler

On the strength of a knockdown in the 12[SUP]th[/SUP] round, Milan Melindo of the Philippines defeated Hecto Budler of South Africa by split decision. Melindo was bloodied in the face by an accidental headbutt in the 6[SUP]th[/SUP] and suffered another cut later in the fight. But despite that difficulty with his vision, Melindo wa able to dominate the last 3 rounds in protecting his IBF Jr. Flyweight belt that he won over Japanese Inoue.
