It was a good offense rendered by challenger Masayuki Kuroda but the champion displayed his better skills starting in the second half of the fight. African champion Mthalane was successful in the defense of his IBF flyweight title. The unanimous decision was incontestable with scores of 116-112, 116-112, 117-111 that is not too close for comfort. It is the second successful defense of Mthalane of his belt.
