IBF middleweight eliminator bout – Derevyanchenko vs Culcay

Sergey Derevyanchenko earned a unanimous decision over Jack Culcay to claim the right for a championship fight in the middleweight division to face the winner of the Canelo Alvarez-Daniel Jacobs fight. Derevyanchenko got his 13th win with a solitary loss to Daniel Jacobs on a split decision. With his 10 KOs, Derevyanchenko is a threat to the middleweight belt.

It was admittedly close, and with the fight altering type scraps Culcay seemed to get the better of it, but stopped short for me due to Derevyanchenko just banking rounds. It was a bit weird. I've seen some comments here about the odd start time, and I think that's a big factor into why the crowd was off.
