IBF minimum weight elimination bout

After winning the IBF minimumweight crown by a KO over Carlos Licona, champion Deejay Kriel will face the winner of the elimination bout between 2 Filipinos. Undefeated Samuel Salva with 16 wins and 10 KOs will face Mark Cuarto who has a fight record of 16-1-1 and 9 KOs. The fight will be on March 23 in Resorts World Manila. Both are 22 years old and possess a knockout punch which gives an even number in the betting odds.

The fight was full of action between the 2 pugilists with frequent exchanges of flurries. Cuarto showed his power punching while Salva was too sleek with his speedy punches. In the end, Salva salvaged a unanimous decision to have the right to face the IBF champion in the minimumweight division.
