Filipino Ernesto Saulong will be facing Japanese IBF super bantamweight champion Ryosuke Iwasa on March 1. Iwasa has a fight record of 24 wins with only 2 losses while Saulong holds a record of 21 wins and also 2 losses with 1 draw. The champion is the favorite but the Filipino vows to get into a brawl to give him an even fighting chance against the longer reach of the Japanese.

For an update. Filipino Ernesto Saulong was no match for the Japanese champion in their 12-round fight in Ryogoku Sumo arena in Tokyo, Japan. The judges scored the fight 120-108, 119-109, 118, 110 all in favor of Ryosuke Iwasa who retained his belt for his second defense. Iwasa’s record is now 25-2 with 16 knockouts while Saulong fell to 21-3 with 1 draw.
