IBF super flyweight title fight – Jerwin Ancajas vs Jonathan Rodriguez

After a long layoff Filipino Jerwin Ancajas will defend his IBF super flyweight title against Jonathan Rodriguez on April 11 (Philippines). The last fight of Ancajas was in 2019 when he defeated Miguel Gonzales in December of that year. Ancajas has a fight record of 32 wins, 1 loss and 2 draws with 22 KOs while Rodriguez has a record of 22-1 with 16 KOs.

The fight was a toe-to-toe affair that it was a toss up between Ancajas and Rodriguez in the first few rounds. But in the 2nd half of the bout it was evident that Ancajas was leading comfortably. In the 8th round Rodriguez suffered a knockdown when he wilted on the flurry of Ancajas. But the expected knockout did not come as the fight ended in 12 rounds. It was a unanimous decision for Ancajas to retain his title.
