An article in Bad Left Hook by John Nash outlined the purses of the boxers in big fights – title fights and eliminators. The range of amount is from $0 to $35 million. Zero purse means the boxer was not paid anything except maybe a share in the pay-per-view if any. The highest boxer to earn in the last 6 months of study is Canelo Alvarez with the $35 million. It is clear that boxing is not just a sport but entertainment that needs popularity in order to get bigger purses.
