Is CBD safe to use if I compete in a tested federation?

I’m worried about trace THC showing up in a product and causing a problem on a drug test. Rules seem to vary between federations, and I can’t find a clear answer.

not sure it’s worth the risk tbh. i think pure CBD isn’t banned by WADA anymore, but a lot of products have trace THC and that can pop a test. and every fed has its own rules. i’d email them directly before touching it, and if you still want it, stick to third party tested stuff

WADA removed CBD from its prohibited list, so the CBD itself isn’t the issue. Your problem would be what else is in the bottle.

Better check with the federation first. Not worth risking a failed test.

If I remember correctly, under WADA-style rules, THC is prohibited in-competition only, with a urinary threshold of 150 ng/mL. Tiny trace amounts are unlikely to reach that, but other cannabinoids have no reporting threshold, so full-spectrum products are the real gamble.
