Jayson Hopper claimed the title of Fittest Man on Earth at the 2025 CrossFit Games held in Albany, New York from August 1–3. After three intense days of elite competition across 10 events, Hopper emerged as the winner in the most competitive men’s division in recent memory.

He held the overall lead for most of the weekend but was never comfortable, with the top five athletes separated by only a few points heading into the final event. Hopper managed to hold on under pressure, securing his first career Games win.

The 2025 CrossFit Games at MVP Arena ended in a dramatic final showdown to determine the Fittest on Earth. Jeff Adler and Tia-Clair Toomey defended their dominance, with Toomey locking in her record-breaking eighth title. Roman Khrennikov's injury opened the door for a fierce battle between Sprague and Hopper, with Event 10's blazing sub-10-second finish tipping the podium. On the women's side, Olivia Kerstetter's breakout performance disrupted the leaderboard and secured a surprise spot in the top three. In the end, legends were solidified, careers were launched, and the Earth’s fittest were crowned.

Final Standings: Men’s Division

The men’s leaderboard shifted frequently, but Hopper stayed composed and calculated when it mattered most. Despite a slip-up in “Running Isabel,” he clinched the championship with a strong finish in the final event.

Top 3:
  • 1st: Jayson Hopper
  • 2nd: Ricky Garard
  • 3rd: Jay Crouch

Jayson Hopper’s Event Results

  • Run/Row/Run: 8th
  • All Crossed Up: 4th
  • Climbing Couplet: 1st
  • Albany Grip Trip: 4th
  • 1RM Back Squat: 6th
  • Throttle Up: 17th
  • Hammer Down: 8th
  • Going Dark: 2nd
  • Running Isabel: 11th
  • Atlas: 3rd
His best moment came during the “Climbing Couplet” where he took his first event win. Hopper’s ability to bounce back after setbacks—like the 17th-place in “Throttle Up”—was key to his overall success.

The Turning Point

After briefly losing the lead to Jay Crouch during day two, Hopper delivered a massive 500+ lb back squat in event five to recapture first place. That performance restored his confidence going into the final day, where he finished strong despite two missed reps in “Running Isabel.”

Hopper’s Rise to the Top

This was Hopper’s fifth appearance at the CrossFit Games. Until now, his best finish was fourth in 2024. His steady climb through the ranks, powered by discipline and refined training, culminated in his biggest achievement yet.

The Final Event: “Atlas”

With everything on the line, Hopper delivered under extreme pressure. His third-place finish in “Atlas” ensured he stayed ahead of Garard and Crouch in total points. The margin was slim, but the win was definitive.

The Future

Hopper now wears the crown and will enter the 2026 season as the man to beat. With seasoned veterans stepping away and a new wave of challengers rising, his victory signals a potential new era of CrossFit dominance.
