Laine Snook Deadlifts a Pair of Millennium Dumbbells
Let’s just be frank here: IronMind has a list of people in mind who are our favorites for top honors in the grip strength world in 2009. One of the people we are betting on for some sensational performances is Laine Snook, and today he made good, once again, by deadlifting a pair of Millennium Dumbbells.

To put that in perspective; standard bar is ~1" that is more like 2.5".

Proves that you don't really need straps.

Or does it? It most certainly proves that the man in the vid has a big pair of hands and an exceptionel grip strength. I don't think this apply as an example to the normal lifting individual.

As for detail on this pair of brutes, Laine provided the following details:

“My Millennium copy weighs 234 lb., and Steve Gardener's original weighs 230 lb. The handle is the same diameter as the Inch [2-3/8”], but is 1 inch longer.”

Not quite....vid description says "230+" which is very impressive.

Screw how thick the handle is, he just did a 460+ pound deadlift with his hands about 3 inches off the ground.

Inver stone
The Inver Stone was, and for that matter still is, a smooth, gray granite boulder shaped through the centuries by the Dee River into an almost geometrically perfect sphere weighing 268 pounds. The Inver stone is probably the most popular manhood stone in the world. People travel great distances to lift it. 3 people have managed to lift the Inver stone overhead, Bill Kazmeier, Francis Brebner, and Hamish Davidson
