more than a year in, mostly PPL. My right side is just stronger on everything. On flat DB press I hit 32s on the right but my left starts shaking the last 2 reps, and on bench the bar drifts toward the left when I’m grinding. Left pec also looks a bit smaller when I flex, or maybe I’m just overthinking it lol.

Been doing single arm DB press and cable flies, weak side first, for like 2 months now and nothing’s really changed.
  • Is some imbalance normal or should I be worried?
  • Should I go lighter on the right so both match, or just go all out on both sides?
  • Anyone else deal with this? How long till it evened out for you?
Eating around maintenance, protein ~1.8g/kg, sleeping 6-7 hrs if that matters. Any tips appreciated 💪

yeah some imbalance is super normal, nobody’s perfectly even. don’t drop the weight on the right, just use the same dumbbells on both sides and let the left catch up. 2 months isn’t long tbh, my left lagged for like 6 months before i noticed it closing up

Hey bro, dont stress too much about the size difference just yet. Start with your weaker side and match the reps on your right.

If your left side keeps shaking or your bar path feels off, try lowering the weight and cleaning up your form first.
