Great video, and I can vouch for everything from being a patient, and having worked and shadowed physicians and seen the 'behind the scenes' first hand.

I have spent some wonderful time in Canadian emergency rooms. Surprisingly sitting in a chair for 2 hours with a dislocated shoulder isn't alot of fun. However it was summer and that kid who got a fish hook stuck in his eye definitely deserved more attention than me.

This video is a little biased. If you need emergency care (not just "there is a little numbness") you will get it quick.

Not a perfect system, but it gets the job done, and i don't have to worry about being dropped by my insurance carrier.

Not really, i've seen someone waiting in an emergency room who lost a finger in a power tool accident, and I personally took a suicidal friend to the emerge 3 nights in a row, and we never even got to see anyone more than the resident. There are also about 5 cases in my graduate work (on brain aneurysms) where people went to the hospital with migraines, waited, went in to see the doctor who told them to take a tylenol (couldn't get a CT, would have had to wait months), and low and behold, they had a brain aneurysm, which ruptured a few days later.

Fuck socialism.

yay!

honestly, ive been to the doc afew times here in norway, and the most ive ever had to wait was like 45 minutes. most people ive talked to praise the system we have over here. ofc its not perfect, nothing is. but the horror stories from america are worse than anything. saw on 60 minutes, a construction worker who fell and injured himself badly. he spent 18 days in a hospital,(he didnt have insurance) and when he got out he owed 500 thousand dollars. i mean, wtf? how the hell can anyone argue that that this is the way to go?

my aunt, recently got diagnosed with a rare and dangerous lung disease, now if she had lived in the US the insurance company would immediately look for ways to get rid of her because of all the treatment she needs. over here she gets it for free. that is fair, that is right, and there is nothing socialist about it at all. its human empathy, fairness and compassion, and one of the reasons i love my country. i gladly pay my taxes knowing that if i get sick, i will receive the health care i need, just like my aunt gets the treatment she needs right now.

I wish it was that way..
Still me and my family bring up the notion, if you care about health care so much, why do you not care about your health at all?

usually talking about smokers, overweight (mostly obese i mean..) and those that are "careless" but still bitch about health care.

Except i can't complain, im on my fathers plan till next year, instead of 25, since the store i work for has an awesome ass health care plan, with vision, etc etc.

Holy shit! This video is filmed right where I live. Greenfield Park, Brossard... I recognize all this. Haha.

I think the best solution to all this is: Don't get hurt. :)

The problem I have is the rationing of the service. Example; My grandfather had to have his bladder removed when he was 84 years old, after that happened the doctor said he probably had another 2 weeks before he was going to die. Well, my grandpa is now 90 years old and still going strong, under Obama's healthcare plan (from my understanding) The government would have determined that he is too old and going to die soon and not make that operation. That fucking pisses me off.
