Mike takes us through one of the most intense prep days yet — a double leg day that tested his limits physically and mentally.
The morning started rough with broken sleep, but instead of dwelling on it, he prepped meals, supplements, and embraced the quiet sunrise. Today’s plan: two separate leg sessions — one focused on hamstrings and glutes, the other on quads — with posing, cardio, and even a podcast squeezed in.
Despite exhaustion and extreme heat during the walk to the gym in Spain, he pushed himself through heavy movements: deadlifts, leg press, lunges, and added hyperextensions on instinct. Every rep felt brutally heavy, and he admitted the fear of not finishing. Hunger, carb depletion, and fatigue made him feel like a “zombie,” yet he refused to quit — leaning on his inner voice “Eliss” to keep going.
Session one left him drained but satisfied. After a quick nap and food, he returned for round two. Quads were on the menu: leg extensions, leg press, and walking lunges to failure. Even while exhausted, he showed his character by encouraging another lifter between his own sets. The final lunges nearly broke him, but he reminded himself that “nobody else can walk the walk.”
He closed the day by admitting it was the hardest so far in prep, finishing dinner just in time to jump into an Olympia TV podcast. After that — Netflix and recovery.
This video captures the essence of true Olympia prep: hunger, fear, heat, and pain, yet still finding the will to do more than what’s on the plan. Mike’s mindset — adding work when most would stop — is exactly why he’s chasing first place on the world stage. Watch below!
