It will be an uphill battle for Filipino hopeful Danny Kingad when he faces former UFC champion Demetrious Johnson for the One FC flyweight world grand prix on October 13 at Ryogoku, Kokugikan, Sumida City, Japan. Johnson has a career record of 29-3-1 while Kingad has 11-1 for his score sheet. Both fighters have the same striking style and a little ground game.

As a heavy favorite it was expected for Demetrious Johnson to not let the fight last for 3 rounds. But the stubborn Filipino had something to show with his strength and stamina to last 3 rounds against the legendary fighter who was a former UFC champion for a long time. Although Kingad lost by unanimous decision but he showed his potential for another fight with high ranking fighters in the division.
