A common question I hear is, "What's the best rest time between sets?" The simple answer: take as long as you need. Heavier, exhausting sets naturally require longer rest periods, whereas lighter warm-up sets need less. Generally, resting between 60 to 180 seconds is effective. While some research suggests 3 minutes is optimal, realistically, most of us don't have time to wait that long—especially if we're hitting around 20 sets per workout. Quick math shows that's too lengthy for anyone balancing gym and daily responsibilities. Keep rest efficient, balance intensity, and maximize your time effectively.
