Hey guys,
I'm currently getting ready for the OCB Midatlantic Classic, which is an IFPA pro qualifier.
A little about me...
Natural Amateur bodybuilder. Started bodybuilding when I entered college, in the fall of 07' at a height of 5'11 and a weight of 175. I was pretty lean, but didn't have much of a build. I had always been busy with sports, theatre, and school work in high school to put any focus on bodybuilding. When I began college, I put all my physical energy into lifting, eating, rest, etc.
Since then I've put on over 50 pounds and competed twice in the Summer of 08'. Both shows were N.A.B.B.A shows, which were untested amateur shows. I placed 2nd in Junior men, and 4th in Novice in my first show. 2nd in Teen class, and 3rd in Novice in my second show. I weighed about 185 on stage at both shows.
Since then, I dedicated myself to doing a slow and consistent bulk. I did not compete in the summer for two reasons. 1. I had arthroscopic surgery on my right shoulder, which was long, painful and slow recovery process. 2. I wanted to make the best of my youth and grow as much as possible.
I had surgery in April of 09', and couldn't lift properly for about 3 months, and when I could, it took me about 3 months to regain my prior size. However, I continued to hit my legs twice a week, even two weeks after my operation!
I'm currently 19.5 weeks out from the OCB show this summer. I'm really excited to finally be doing a natural show. NABBA was filled with people that used anabolics, which is fine, but I didn't want to compete against people that used, when I did not. It's just not an even playing field.
Also, I have Layne Norton as my contest prep coach for this show. I came in good condition for my first two shows, but not nearly "shredded". If I want to do well in bodybuilding, I need to learn how to get into that 3-4% body fat range and hold my muscle and fullness. I hired Layne, because I know he can get me these kind of results. I figured I would pay him to do so, learn from him, and then be knowledgeable enough to do my own prep in the future.
Attached are pictures my girlfriend took of me about 2 hours after a leg hypertrophy session. I'm 4 days into my diet, so the reduction in carbs has definitely already started to flatten me out just a bit, as I have lost 4 pounds already which im sure is mostly water.
I know I need to work on posing, so please be gentle lol. I havent posed for a camera or on stage in a while, so i definitely need to practice. Posing definitely wins contests for sure.
I'm 227 pounds in these pictures at approximately 18-20% bodyfat.
