The 3rd round saw a change of leadership again with Saso of the Philippines being overtaken by Lexi Thompson by just 1 shot. Here’s the leaderboard stats:

It was a thrilling finish in the US women’s open with the come from behind shots of Japnese Nasa Hataoka with her last round 68 to get in tie with Yuka Saso. The sudden death was for 2 holes - #9 and #18. It was a 4-shot tie in the first hole but in the 2nd hole Saso was able to sink a biride that spelled a clear win. Japanese-Filipino Saso is tied in a record with Inbee Park for the youngest pro to win the tournament.
