I enjoy 2.1 for music and dont have the room for a full 7.1 setup at the moment
especially with such large components

7.1 is useless unlesss your room is shaped perfectly for it. Most people have a hard time with 5.1.

I was constantly changing positioning and tinkering with the system. very hard to find a perfect balance

Financially that's an impossibility. Given the space, what I have is fine and I favor cognitive over visceral stimulation anyway.

Very true. That the main reason I took awhile till I got my "home theater". Just something I always wanted.

My mate had a pretty good 5.1 system set-up. I almost crapped my pants watching Band of Brothers. I thought a tank was coming up behind me.

Can't get a pic for you right now, but here's the set:

- Samsung 46"
- Yamaha amp for the sound source
- XBOX360 (PS3 luvers, fuck off ;-))
- I'm about to change my speakers so never mind about them at this point. I won't buy a complete 5.1 system, but I'm planning to invest to good pair of main speakers + sub.
- Of course I got DVD player too and Blu-Ray is coming right up.

That's about it at this point.

i got this Logitech Z-5500 505RMS Watts 5.1 Speaker system. Some people may bitch about the brand but the system sounds awesome. even better than my neighbors Bose system which he paid like double the price for it. might be just me but i don't like the Bose sound at all. Have Bose in my Car and don't like it too..
