where did myostatin come from when looking at comparisons from young to old...and where did vic richards go he would have been a reigning olympia had he competed...

Your not wrong, actually.
When the Myostatin gene is blocked naturally the human body or nature somehow makes up for it.. in a matter of speaking.
When we artificial knock out the gene we come up with these problems meaning we don't fully understand all the variables associated with the natural defect of inhibiting the myostatin gene. Hope that helps.
