Sifiso Lungelo Thabethe was tragically proclaimed dead after his famous act went wrong in front of his admirers - the tragedy was captured on tape as shocked onlookers looked on.
During a warm-up, a world champion bodybuilder sadly died after executing his characteristic backflip in front of a startled audience.
Sifiso Lungelo Thabethe died a few days after landing on his head at a competition in South Africa.
On Saturday, August 5, 2017, it was stated that the 75kg muscular guy did not twist his body far enough, resulting in his cracking his neck.
He was alleged to have struggled to turn his body and was videotaped laying immobile before rolling onto his back at the moment.
Following the strange mishap, his fans have now posted on his Instagram to warn others about the hazards of backflips.
As followers stated, he was apparently used as an example to dissuade people from doing the deadly technique, as "this is why you should never backflip."
Muscle Evolution, a South African magazine, addressed the situation, saying the industry was "shocked and grieved" by his passing.
The bodybuilder was attempting to delight the audience in the same manner as he had only days before when he won the junior under-23 IFBB Muscle Mulisha Grand Prix.
