So I believe I know who tried to get this site shut down. It’s a guy from another forum. Shortly after the domain was suspended he contacted me acting like a friend and trying to scare me and he was trying to buy the site or pretending to want to buy the site.

I won’t say who it is right now but they are using our brand name in their site and they just released a press release promoting it. How low is that?

I appreciate everyone here and I will always fight to keep this site going.

I can also do things to get other sites taken down. Would I? I never have but I would if I have to. I thought we were all brothers but not all of us are.

Exactly. I had to move the domain and get another server, I had to set up new email routing and a bunch of other stuff. It really adds to the monthly expense.

I also had to change the permission structure of the site.

They are a different type of site than this one. This Musclemecca bodybuilding forum posts bodybuilding news and updates, we cover events, post results, stats, bios, etc. We also have info on nutrition and supplements and influencers, etc. We have an entire team that writes all the content here on a daily basis.

Part of the issue I have is that I trusted this person and actually believed we were friends though I was suspicious because of the timing. The domain gets suspended and a couple days later he is emailing me trying to scare me about my domain being taken when his is much, much worse. It is just a source forum. And then offering to buy the site. Like the strategy is to try and damage a forum and then make a low ball offer.

What put me over the top was the press press release using this brand that we have worked on for so many years. That is just really, really dirty. I could retaliate and I am thinking about it but I don't want to stoop to that level. I hate drama.

Let him have his little musclemecca bodybuilding forum. He will never compete with this forum for bodybuilding information and coverage.

## I need to calm down and move on. I really let this consume me.

At some point soon we will make everything public again.

That's some low ball hater activity. His site is probably dwindling away and he needed a way to link his site to the name so his traffic might go up. labs are probably tired of paying 1k a month for no traffic and he is trying to fix it. but the wrong way

It is a messed up and evil strategy. Get competition shut down or try to damage them and them buy them cheap and also try to milk off of their brand.

We don't really compete with that guy. I don't know why he thinks that. We are nothing like that site. I will put it this way. When bodybuildingdotcom was down our traffic more than tripled and we took over the number one spot for bodybuilding forums in google. Those are the sites we compete with. We have almost 2 decades worth of bodybuilding content, not just source talk and logs. We are no threat to that dude at all.
