Imprezas suck, i almost crashed one with my dads truck a few weeks ago.

The life time doesn't have much to do with it.
The reason Evos and imprezas have low power on the low rpm is because according to the WRCs rules as both has/is competing in you can only have a 2 Liter engine. To solve the power problem they need to use a MONSTER turbo to get any power out of the engine, which creates turbolag while the turbo "charges"
